Philip is responsible for the identification, evaluation and execution of investments for Orion, in addition to investment management and monitoring. He has closed deals across a wide variety of structures, including equity, debt, streaming and royalty financings, as well as M&A. Before joining Orion, Philip was at Pala Investments, the commodities-focused investment company. Philip led Pala’s partnership with its portfolio companies in financial matters, including M&A, capital raising, financial strategy and management, and oversaw acquisition finance for new Pala investments. Philip also established and managed Pala’s liquid portfolio. He also identified, evaluated and executed a wide range of private equity transactions, and worked with a number of Pala’s portfolio companies, assisting with various strategic and financial projects. Philip graduated from Oxford University with a Masters in Earth Sciences. He is a qualified chartered accountant (ACA).

Doug Groh is a Portfolio Manager and Senior Research Analyst at Tocqueville Asset Management L.P.  He joined Tocqueville in 2003. Previously, Mr. Groh was Director of Investment Research at Grove Capital from 2001 to 2003 and from 1990 to 2001 held investment research and banking positions at J.P. Morgan, Merrill Lynch and ING Bank. Mr. Groh began his career as a mining and precious metals analyst in 1985 at U.S. Global Investors.  Mr. Groh earned a B.S. in Geology/Geophysics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, where he focused on mineral economics.

Jonathan Guy is Director of Mining Research at Numis Securities in London. He has 20 years’ experience as a mining analyst and has been top three ranked in both the Extel and Starmine surveys. Previously Jonathan worked for RBC Capital Markets, Investec and Natixis. He holds a B.Eng in Industrial Geology from the Camborne School of Mines.
