Walter M. Cabot, Jr. has a successful track record as portfolio manager and entrepreneur spanning more than 20 years. He established the Apogee Gold Fund in October 2002.  Between 1994 and 2000, he set up and led Atlantic Capital and its US equities hedge fund. Before this, Mr. Cabot managed three NYSE listed equity income funds as President and CEO of the Patriot Group.  This was after his having run a top performing $750 million high-yield equity fund at Putnam Management Company. Mr. Cabot started his career at Boston Company, a subsidiary of Amex, where he successfully managed a sizeable part of the Bank’s assets.

George R. Ireland, Chief Investment Officer & Portfolio Manager at Geologic Resource Partners LLC, has 35 years of experience in the resource sectors in positions ranging from field geologist to banking and venture capital. Mr. Ireland founded Geologic Resource Partners in 2004 and serves as Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager. From 2000 to 2004, he was General Partner of Ring Partners, LP, an investment partnership which has been merged into GRF. From 1991 to 2000, Mr. Ireland was a research analyst for Knott Partners LP. Mr. Ireland graduated from Phillips Academy and the University of Michigan with a BS from the School of Natural Resources. Mr. Ireland also serves on the boards of directors of several public and private companies in the resource sector.

Joe Wickwire is a portfolio manager for Fidelity Investments. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing and other financial products and services to more than 20 million individuals, institutions and financial intermediaries. Mr. Wickwire currently manages Select Gold Portfolio, Fidelity Advisor Gold Fund and Fidelity Global Commodity Stock Fund. He assumed management responsibilities for Select Gold Portfolio and Fidelity Advisor Gold Fund in August 2007 and Fidelity Global Commodity Stock in March 2009.

In 2011, Brendan Wood International named Mr. Wickwire one of its “TopGun US Metals and Mining Investment Minds.” He has appeared on the Bloomberg Business, CNBC and Fox Business television news channels; been quoted in Barron’s, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal; and has presented at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, the Harvard Business School and Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. He is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.

Diana Walters is President and CEO of Liberty Metals & Mining, LLC (LMM.) LMM is part of Liberty Mutual Group Asset Management, Inc. LMM invests in opportunities in the mining and metals space. Before joining Liberty she was a Managing Partner of Eland Capital, LLC, a Natural Resources advisory firm. Prior to that, she was Managing Director for the Global Investment Banking Resources and Energy Group of HSBC Securities in New York. From 1987 to 2007, she held various management positions in financial institutions in New York and Texas where her major emphasis was corporate finance origination and execution for international and independent energy and mining companies. Ms. Walters’ longest tenure was as a Director for seven years in the Natural Resource Group at DLJ/Credit Suisse First Boston.

Ms. Walters graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Plan II and an MA in Energy and Mineral Resources.
